Accepting that a personal hero has passed is strange. Did I think I'd ever get to meet him? No. But, knowing that I can no longer look forward to his new work and see images of the spectacular shows is saddening. I have admired Alexander McQueen's prolific designs and dramatically presented collections for a long time. His excellent showmanship revealed to me at a young age that the common thread between fashion show and art installation was strong. Some of the first images I taped into my inspiration book were of his work. Images that I still have to this day. I was stunned to hear the news.
