A friend told me last week that Bacon is trendy right now. I have no idea. Can a meat be trendy? I guess I generally associate the word "trend" with something fashionable or pertaining to image. Are fashion choices and food cravings related in some strange way? I suppose, being creatures of comfort, that this could be true. Nonetheless, being the group of meat enthusiasts that we are, my foodie friends and I decided to kick off our first Dinner Club meeting of 2010 on Super Bowl sunday with a BACON theme. Let me tell you, better in theory than in reality. I'm pretty sure I shaved a year off my life. Did we run this trend into the ground? No way. But, a week of detox may be in order.
